Candace Fleming is the author of several delightful picture books for children. Hailed as "inspiring and transporting" by Kirkus Reviews, Gabriella's Song was listed among Publishers Weekly's best books of 1997 and was named an American Library Association Notable Book. Ms. Fleming perfected her birdcalls with When Agnes Caws, also an ALA Notable Book, and ventured down the Bayou in Who Invited You? She lives with her husband and two sons in a suburb of Chicago.
